Mt. Nebo is part of the SHARE Food Network.

Did you know that for many years, Mt. Nebo has been a host site for the SHARE Food Program? In fact, Mt. Nebo is one of only several that are left in the area.

SHARE is a non-profit, community-based organization dedicated to offering healthy, nutritious groceries at a roughly 50 percent discount.

This is accomplished through high-volume purchasing and thousands of volunteer hours, which strengthens the community for all.

Monthly value packages cost just $26 and includes $40-$45 worth of basic and healthy groceries, and always four to six pounds of frozen proteins and eight to 12 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables, sometimes with seasonal grocery or dessert items.

SHARE food packages are available to anyone who is interested. Thousands of families count on SHARE each month for affordable, nutritious groceries that are sold through volunteer-run locations throughout the Washington and Baltimore metropolitan area. Each participant receives a newsletter with recipes and a preview of the next month’s food package.

Mt. Nebo is in need of volunteers to offer a few hours of time to bag dry food items such as potatoes, rice, and onions in preparation for our monthly food distribution.
